Vol. 11 No. 8

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CLAIM FOR COMPENSATION (OFFALY).

asked the Minister for Finance if he has received a claim from Thomas Doherty, Banagher, Offaly, for compensation for straw burned in 1920, and if he can state the reason for delay in dealing with this claim and when the applicant is likely to receive payment of the amount granted.

The person named by the Deputy is the holder of a Defended Decree in respect of the damage referred to for £18, with costs. The decree was payable in equal shares by the County Councils of Galway and Offaly, and the amount payable by the latter county was paid some considerable time ago. The balance of £9, with interest and costs, will be paid without delay.
