Vol. 11 No. 12

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CO. CLARE COMPENSATION CLAIMS.

asked the Minister for Finance if he has received from Mr. Martin Naughton, Ballycor, Oatfield, Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare, an application for compensation in respect of personal injuries sustained by him at the hands of British Forces on January 8th, 1921; if that application has been considered, and, if he will give it further consideration if the applicant produces new evidence in its regard.

The application referred to by the Deputy was investigated by the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee who recommended that no compensation should be paid. As the injuries sustained by the applicant were not serious enough to require medical treatment, I see no reason why the case should be re-opened.

asked the Minister for Finance if he has considered a claim for compensation in respect of personal injuries suffered by Mr. Patrick Finn, Carhuduff, Moymore, Ennistymon, Co. Clare, on June 4th, 1921, at the hands of British Forces, and if he will indicate his decision on the claim.

The application referred to was investigated by the Compensation (Personal Injuries) Committee who recommended that no compensation should be paid. As already indicated to the Deputy in the letter addressed to him on the 13th December last, I am satisfied that the application has received full and careful consideration and no further action is possible in the matter.
