Vol. 12 No. 5

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - RELEASE OF POLITICAL PRISONERS BY NORTHERN GOVERNMENT.

DOMHNALL O MUIRGHEASA

asked the President whether the Executive Council have made any representation recently to the Northern Government or the British Government in respect to the release of Mr. John McCurtin, T.D., and the other political prisoners imprisoned by the Northern Government, and, if so, whether he will state what was the result.

Representations urging the release of Mr. McCurtin and the other prisoners detained by the Northern Government have frequently been made, both to that Government and to the British Government, and these representations were recently renewed. I regret to say that, so far, they have not met with success.
