Vol. 14 No. 14

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - CLONAKILTY TRADERS' CLAIMS.

asked the Minister for Finance whether payment will now be made under the Indemnity Act, 1924, on a claim by Messrs. O'Donovan and O'Leary, Clonakilty, Co. Cork, for loss and damage to cars by Irregulars and on which claim the Circuit Court Judge reported for a sum of £27 over a year ago.

Payment of the judge's report under the Damage to Property Compensation Act was refused by my Department some time ago for reasons which have already been communicated to the applicant's solicitor. The case has since been referred to the Indemnity Act Committee for consideration, but that Committee will not be able to deal with the claim until certain evidence which the claimant's solicitor was asked two months ago to furnish has been produced.
