Vol. 14 No. 14

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - ARMY WORKSHOPS (CURRAGH).

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that it is alleged that repairs and renovation to private motor and horse-drawn vehicles, cycles and prams belonging to office workers and others living on the Curragh Camp and neighbourhood are being executed in the workshops of the Army Departments, thereby depriving ratepaying mechanics of a considerable portion of their trade; whether this is true, and, if so. whether he will give instructions to put a stop to this irregular practice.

I am aware of an allegation that privately-owned vehicles are being repaired and painted in Army workshops at the Curragh. It is not true.
