Vol. 16 No. 6

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - BUTTEVANT CLAIM FOR GOODS.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he has investigated the claim of Mr. William O'Brien, Military Road, Buttevant, for goods alleged to have been commandeered by the military authorities in 1923, and whether he can state if payment will be made at an early date.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to his similar question on the 10th March last, regarding Mr. O'Brien's claim. Satisfactory evidence of the commandeering of the property has not yet been received. Inquiries are, however, still proceeding. I regret that I am unable to say when payment —if any—will be made.
