Vol. 16 No. 10

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - MILITARY SERVICE PENSION APPLICATION.

asked the Minister for Defence whether the application of Mr. Christopher McMahon, 57 Sitric Road, off Arbour Hill, Dublin (reference S.P. 1454) for a military service pension has been considered by the Board of Assessors, and if he will state with what result.

Mr. McMahon's application has been considered and reported on by the Board of Assessors. The report shows that, in addition to service in the National Forces, Mr. McMahon rendered service in Oglaigh na hEireann in the period from the 1st April, 1920, to the 30th June, 1922, but that the latter service was not found to be of the nature and duration necessary to qualify for a pension in respect of it. Mr. McMahon was informed accordingly on the 11th December last and notified at the same time that he was in the circumstances, ineligible for the award of a pension.
