Vol. 18 No. 15

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - KYLEMORE BRIDGE (CO. GALWAY).

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he has received a petition from the tenants in the neighbourhood of Kylemore, County Galway, requesting that the bridge crossing the Kylemore Lakes be repaired, as this bridge is the only way that the children of the tenants have of getting to school, and what action has been taken, or is intended to be taken, as a result of the receipt of this petition.

The petition referred to was duly received. A communication was addressed to the County Council on the subject, in reply to which I was informed that the bridge was not on a county road and that the County Council were not, therefore, responsible for the maintenance of the road or bridge. I am, however, bringing the matter to the notice of the Minister for Education for any consideration he may find it possible to give to it.
