Vol. 18 No. 16

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. - UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE CONTRIBUTIONS.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he will state the reasons for the delay in the payment of refund of contributions as provided for under Section 25 of the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1920, and Section 2 of the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1926, to Patrick Delaney, age about 67 years, of Kilcullen, County Kildare (Serial No. 908, Droichead Nua Branch Office), who is a contributor since 1912, and whose cards are stamped up to date.

No claim for refund of contributions by Patrick Delaney of Kilcullen, Co. Kildare, holder of Book No. Droichead Nua 908 can be traced. The Department is, however, getting in touch with the insured contributor, with a view to obtaining particulars of the claim stated to have been made.

Can the Minister say if there is any explanatory leaflet issued by his Department explaining the provisions of Section 2 of the Act of 1926 and its relation to Section 25 of the Act of 1920? The reason I ask that is, that I think it is necessary that all insured contributors should know how they stand.

There is no explanatory leaflet in relation to Patrick Delaney.

I mean in general?

That is a separate question, of which I would require notice.

I thought that, as a matter of courtesy, the Minister, if he had the information, would give it to me.

It is a matter of not having the information.
