CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - RELIEF OF CONGESTION (KILDARE).

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether he can state when the lands containing 402 acres, on the estate of Mr. Edward Hornidge, in the Ballymore-Eustace area, County Kildare, for which the Land Commission has made an offer to the owner, will be ready for the relief of congestion; further, whether the Land Commission purpose to acquire the remainder of the estate, containing about 900 acres in the townlands of Killmallum, Kennycourt, Horsepasstown, and Tulfaris, for division amongst the one hundred congests whose names have been furnished to the Department.

Mr. HOGAN

The offer of the Land Commission for the purchase of some 402 acres situate in the townlands of Ballymore-Eustace East, Broadleas Commons, Horsepasstown, Kilmalum and Silverhill Lower, on the estate of Captain Edward Hornidge has been refused by the owner. The Land Commission now propose to institute proceedings for the compulsory acquisition of the lands. As regards the remaining lands on this estate the Land Commission do not propose to take any steps with regard to their acquisition.
