Vol. 22 No. 3

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - PROTECTION OF IRISH BACON.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he will state whether he intends to introduce legislation to protect the home market for Irish farm produce against the sales of foreign produce, bacon especially, which is often stamped and sold as Irish.

Mr. HOGAN

I understand that it is proposed, in the Merchandise Marks Bill at present being prepared by the Minister for Industry and Commerce, to make provision to prevent the substitution of imported produce for the produce of the Saorstát.
