Vol. 23 No. 1

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - DRAINAGE SCHEMES—ADVICE BY BOARD OF WORKS.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the number of drainage schemes in the Saorstát, on which the Board of Public Works has given expert advice, in each year since 1923.

It is not quite clear what information the Deputy desires. Since the passing of the Drainage Maintenance Act, 1924, the Commissioners of Public Works have received from their engineers reports upon the state of the drainage works in 143 drainage districts. They have also had inspection made in respect of 255 petitions received for new drainage districts under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1925.
