Vol. 32 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sale of Chewing-Gum.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware of the demoralisation and injury to health, especially amongst young persons, arising from the increasing habit of gum-chewing in the Free State; and if he will introduce proposals for legislation prohibiting its sale in shops and slot machines.

I have not received any representations of the nature mentioned by the Deputy.

I would like to ask if the Minister would be prepared, especially in the case of Deputies who put irrelevant supplementary questions, to circulate the replies to Deputies ten or fifteen minutes before the assembling of the Dáil, so that they will be prepared to put more relevant supplementary questions.
