Vol. 36 No. 1

Public Business. - Unemployment Insurance Bill, 1930—First Stage.

I ask for leave to introduce a "Bill entitled an Act to amend the Unemployment Insurance Acts, 1920 to 1926, with respect to the amount of the contributions payable under the said Acts and to amend Section 12 of the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1920, with respect to the amount of the appropriation-in-aid mentioned in the said Section 12."

Leave to introduce granted.

When will the Second Stage be taken?

I think there will be some objection to that, in view of the fact that it has not been circulated yet. The Minister, no doubt, has had an opportunity of considering it, but there are other persons in the Dáil who are concerned.

It can be set down for Friday, with the proviso that if the Deputy objects on Friday it will not be taken. It is a simple Bill of two clauses.

Second Stage to be taken on Friday.
