Vol. 37 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Purefoy Estate, Tipperary.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether it is proposed to acquire the estate of the late Captain Bagwell Purefoy, Green-fields, Tipperary, and, if so, whether in view of the fact that there is a large number of congests in the locality, and also that the twenty workers and their families on the estate have received notice to vacate their houses, he will expedite the division of these lands.

The Land Commission have under consideration the question of the acquisition of the lands at Greenfields, the property of the late Mr. W.B. Purefoy, and the matter will be expedited as much as possible.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that many employees, married men, are being dismissed from that estate?

Well, it is so, and in view of that fact I would ask the Parliamentary Secretary whether he is prepared to take steps to have the matter expedited?
