Vol. 41 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New Gaeltacht Commission.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state (a) the terms of reference of the proposed new Gaeltacht Commission; (b) the emoluments, if any, of the members of the Commission; (c) their particular qualifications for the work and (d) whether it is intended to cover the ground explored by the previous Commission.

It is not intended to set up a new Gaeltacht Commission. The appointment, however, of two temporary inspectors to make inquiries which I deem necessary into the operations in the Gaeltacht generally is at present being considered.

Am I to understand that these appointments have not been made?

These appointments have not been made; they are being considered.
