Vol. 41 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Gaeltacht Temporary Inspectors.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether two temporary Inspectors have been appointed to make a survey of the Gaeltacht, and, if so, whether he will state (a) what particular aspect of the Gaeltacht conditions they are to inspect and report on; (b) what special qualifications the Inspectors have for this work; (c) what remuneration, if any, is to be given them for their work.

The appointment of two Inspectors to make a survey of the existing industrial activities in the Gaeltacht and to advise on these industries and as to the possibilities of further industrial development in the Gaeltacht is under consideration. The Deputy may be assured that any Inspectors appointed will have the necessary qualifications for their task. The remuneration proposed for these services is at the rate of £35 per month.
