Vol. 42 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Elimination of Disease in Poultry.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state what precautionary measures have been taken by his Department to eliminate the disease amongst fowl known as B.W.D., and if he will indicate the results of such precautions in the different egg stations in County Meath.

The agglutination test for bacillary white diarrhoea ("B.W.D.") was carried out last autumn in connection with each egg distribution station established in County Meath by the Committee of Agriculture under the conditions of the Department's Poultry Stations Scheme.

In all cases the birds that reacted to the test were removed from the station flocks for killing.
