Vol. 46 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Entertainment Duty on Dances.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware of the hardship caused to hotel workers and taxi drivers as a result of the Entertainment Duty on dances; whether appeals were made to him by interested parties for the removal of this duty, and if so, if he is in a position to announce his decision in the matter.

I am not aware that any serious hardship has been caused to hotel workers and taxi drivers as a result of the Entertainment Duty on dances. Appeals have been made by interested parties for the removal of the Duty and the matter will be considered in conjunction with the general review of taxation for the next Budget.
