Vol. 46 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cahirkeem Pier.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he is aware that owing to rocks and other obstructions interfering with the approach to Cahirkeem Pier, Eyeries, Castletownbere, this pier has become practically useless for shipping and for the promotion of the fishing industry; if any enquiries have been made by his Department in the matter and if not, whether enquiries will be made with a view to steps being taken during the coming summer to have these obstructions removed, and thereby give much-needed employment in this poor district in the peninsula of Berehaven.

I am not aware of the obstructions mentioned, and am having inquiries made.
