Vol. 46 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Repairs to Cottage on Mayo Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether any representations have been made to his Department regarding the repairs to the cottage on the Mayo Estate of Mr. John Gallaghér, Rathgaragh, Kill, Straffan, County Kildare (R.O.4123/5), and whether any decision has yet been arrived at, and if so, whether he will state the nature of the decision.

Representations have been made to the Land Commission on behalf of Mr. John Gallagher for assistance to repair his cottage. The matter is at present under consideration.

Can the Minister say why, when representations of this kind were made to his Department six months ago by me, and fifteen months ago by the applicant, it is not possible to arrive at a decision in the matter without having so unexplained a delay?

There was a question of what the applicant would do for himself, and that had to be decided.

Will the Minister say if this matter is likely to be settled at an early date? It is going on for one-and-a-half years now.

An inspector has made representations, and he has to see the applicant about the matter.
