Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Galway Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will consider the compulsory acquisition of the lands in Abbortt, County Galway, known as the Blakeney Estate, leased presently by McCartan Brothers, for distribution amongst congested tenants and others in the area.

The Land Commission have had under consideration the question of the acquisition of the lands on Abbert Demesne held under lease by McCartan Brothers, and an offer was issued by them which was not accepted. The representations now made by the Deputy have been noted for consideration.
