Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - National Health Insurance Funds.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state (1) what the funds held by the Minister on behalf of the National Health Insurance Fund amounting to £2,497,818 12s. 11d. and the Central National Health Fund amounting to £101,229 2s. 4d., are value for at present market prices; (2) what rate the cash on deposit receipt amounting to £337,000 is placed at, and if it would not be profitable to invest this sum.

The values at present market prices of the securities, etc., of the aggregate nominal amounts of £2,497,818 and £101,229 held at 31st December, 1932, for the National Health Insurance Fund and National Health Insurance Central Fund are approximately £2,516,562 and £103,545. Deposit interest at the rate of one per cent. was paid on the £337,000 cash pending its investment in suitable securities. This was effected some time ago.
