Vol. 53 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sugar Beet Employees.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that the services of men who have been employed for a number of years as organisers or supervisory transport agents in connection with the growing, handling and transport of sugar beet are being dispensed with; that these men have been responsible for getting farmers to grow the crop this year, and whether in the circumstances he will cause enquiries to be made with a view to retaining the services of these men.

The answer is in the negative. The employment of organisers or supervisory transport agents in connection with sugar beet is not a matter for which I am responsible.
