Vol. 57 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cutlery Factories' Staffs and their Wages.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the total number and location of the firms engaged in Saorstát Eireann in the manufacture of articles of cutlery intended to be covered by Emergency (Imposition of Duties) (No. 64) Order, 1935, the gross value of their annual production of these articles; the average number of persons employed on their manufacture throughout the year; and the total annual amount of salaries and wages paid in respect of the manufacture of these articles.

The reply to the first part of the Deputy's question is that there is no firm in the Saorstát engaged in the manufacture of the articles intended to be covered by Emergency (Imposition of Duties) (No. 64) Order, 1935. The remaining portions of the question do not accordingly arise.
