The industries for which preliminary figures have been issued in connection with the Census of Production, 1933, are:—bacon curing, grain milling, malting, sugar confectionery and jam making, aerated and mineral waters, brewing, distilling, tobacco, bricks, glass and monumental masonry, wood furniture and upholstery; coach, wagon and motor body building and construction of motor vehicles; engineering and implements; linen, cotton, hemp, jute and canvas; woollens and worsteds; clothing (wholesale factories); boot and shoe (wholesale factories); hosiery; paper making and manufactured stationery; printing, publishing and bookbinding; soap and candles; fertilisers, chemicals and paints.

The only industry in respect of which figures have not yet been published is the metal trades, and it is anticipated that preliminary figures will be issued within a fortnight.
