Vol. 59 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Air Services in Saorstát.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if it is contemplated in the near future to inaugurate, through departmental action, air services (1) between centres in the Irish Free State, and (2) between such centres in the Irish Free State and Great Britain and Northern Ireland; and if he will indicate when such services will come into operation, and if pending such departmental action he will be prepared to sanction the operation of air services in the Irish Free State by private or public companies worked in conjunction with existing services in Great Britain.

It is contemplated that commercial air services will be established in the near future. The details of the scheme under consideration are not sufficiently complete for a definite announcement. In the meantime it is not practicable to consider other schemes.
