Vol. 61 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Shop Sites at Kehoe Square, Dublin.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that an advertisement appeared in the Dublin Press recently, offering a site at Kehoe Square, Emmet Road, Inchicore, Dublin, for the building of shops, etc.; whether any applications were received and, if so, if he will state if any applications have been accepted and, if not, whether the Minister will place this site with the Dublin Corporation for housing purposes.

Tenders were invited by public advertisement for building leases of the site available at Kehoe Barracks. The advertisement did not limit the purpose of the leases to the building of shops. Applications have been received and are under consideration. The Corporation were specially invited to tender in reply to the advertisement, but they did not do so.

Arising out of the answer by the Parliamentary Secretary, may I ask if any decision has yet been arrived at in respect of any of the applications received, and will the Parliamentary Secretary inform the House to what use the site will be put?

Unless I could answer the first question in the affirmative, I could not answer the second question at all, and the answer to the first question is not in the affirmative.
