Vol. 69 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Provision of Roadway at Athboy.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he received representations from the Labour Party branch at Rathcarn, Athboy, County Meath, requesting that a right of way and roadway be provided from the public road to the residence of Mr. Michael Tuite through the lands of Drissoge, and whether it has been brought to his notice that a serious inconvenience and hardship has been inflicted on Mr. Tuite and ten other families owing to the absence of a right of way to the public road; and whether it is his intention to take immediate action to comply with the terms of the petition.

The Land Commission have received representations from the Rathearn branch of the Labour Party requesting that a roadway should be provided to the residence of Mr. Michael Tuite through the lands of Drissoge the property of Miss Catherine Ledwith. From enquiries made by the Land Commission, it appears that the dwelling of Michael Tuite and the dwellings of the ten families referred to are already served by a right of way for all purposes, but access to the residence of Michael Tuite is difficult, especially during winter months, owing to the state of the ground. The Land Commission have noted the matter for consideration in the event of the lands of Drissoge being acquired.
