Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kilkenny Water Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether the plans prepared in connection with the Thomastown (County Kilkenny) water scheme were submitted to him for approval; and, if so, whether he will state if the plans have been approved by him, and whether that approval has been communicated to the local authority.

The plans for a waterworks scheme for Thomastown were submitted to me in conjuction with a petition seeking compulsory powers of acquisition of certain rights in connection with the scheme. The plans cannot be considered until a decision on the petition is given. The petition is at present under consideration.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether the plans prepared in connection with the Ballyraggett (County Kilkenny) water scheme were submitted to him for approval; and, if so, whether he will state if the plans have been approved by him, and whether that approval has been communicated to the local authority.

The answer to the first portion of the question is in the affirmative. The plans and other documents were returned to the local authority on the 7th ultimo for revision in certain respects. Revised documents have not yet been furnished. The local authority were asked on the 5th instant to expedite their re-submission.
