Vol. 69 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Gárda Pay and Allowances.

asked the Minister for Justice whether in view of the paramount importance which the question of pay and allowances is at present occupying in the minds of the Gárda Síochána he is now in a position to inform the Dáil of the terms of his reply to the Gárda Síochána Representative Body on the question of restoration of pay and allowances.

asked the Minister for Justice whether any decision has been arrived at regarding the scales of pay of the Gárda Síochána.

I am taking Questions No. 14 and No. 15 together. I have nothing to add to the reply given by me on the 6th instant to a question by Deputy McGowan on this subject.

Would the Minister inform the House when he expects to be able to make a statement on this matter?

I cannot give any definite date, but I can assure the Deputy that there will be no avoidable delay.
