Vol. 69 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of County Tipperary Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the lands of the late W. P. Hanly, at Ballynonty, Lanespark, Derryvilla, and Coneyharp, have been acquired; and, if so, when the acquisition took place, and when these lands will be divided.

Mr. Boland

The Land Commission have decided to institute proceedings for the acquisition of portion of the untenanted lands on the estate of W. P. Hanly, deceased, in the townlands of Lanespark, Derryvilla, Killeen and Cooldine, and also for the resumption of two holdings on the Cobden estate in the townland of Ballynonty, which appear to have been formerly in the occupation of the late Mr. Hanly, but are now in the occupation of Mr. W. F. Sankey. At the present stage of the proceedings it is not possible to say when the lands will be acquired and divided.

Is it not a fact that these lands were offered to you two and a half years ago, and that your inspectors carried out an inspection of them at the time? They were freely offered to you then.

Mr. Boland

I cannot add anything to what I have already told the Deputy.
