Vol. 69 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of County Sligo Bogs.

asked the Minister for Lands if he can state what steps the Land Commission have taken to acquire the bog reputed to be in the possession of Mr. Martin Brennan at Annaghbeg, Monasteraden, County Sligo, consisting of approximately 100 acres, and whether in view of the scarcity of turbary in the locality he will indicate when this bog will be available for sub-division.

Mr. Boland

The Land Commission have arranged for inquiry to be made to ascertain the suitability for their purposes of the lands of Annaghbeg or Monasteraden in the occupation of Martin and Anne Brennan, but it is not possible to state at present whether or when the lands will be acquired.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he can state when the bog reserved by the Land Commission on the Phibbs estate at Moylough, County Sligo, consisting of approximately 250 acres will be sub-divided amongst the farmers in that area.

Mr. Boland

I would ask the Deputy to be good enough to repeat his question in a fortnight's time. It will be necessary to investigate the matter locally.
