Vol. 69 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Telegraphic Facilities for Islands.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if any progress has been made with the scheme, outlined by his predecessor in office, for linking up the island of Cape Clear in West Cork by telephone or telegraph with the mainland, and if he can state when the scheme will be effective.

The general question of the provision of telegraphic communication to various islands off the West and South-West coasts, including Cape Clear Island, is still under consideration. The matter is being expedited as much as possible, but a decision is not likely to be arrived at for some time.
