Vol. 69 No. 15

Written Answers. - County Cork Old Age Pension Claim.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state why an old age pension which Mrs. Mary Cahalane, Lissarourke, Enniskeane, was in receipt of has been stopped; if it is proposed to restore the pension; and, if so, when such restoration will take place.

The old age pension granted to Mrs. Mary Cahalane, Lissarourke, Enniskeane, County Cork, in 1929 was withdrawn on the 28th September, 1936, because it was ascertained that she had not attained the statutory age.

Mrs. Cahalane was granted a fresh pension as from the 7th of May, 1937, inclusive. This pension is being withheld to recover the amount of pension money overdrawn by her during the years 1929-36. When the debt is recovered the pension granted in May, 1937, will be restored.
