Vol. 72 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Waterford Meat Company.

asked the Minister for Agriculture what has been the amount of the subsidies or grants given to the Waterford Meat Company during the years 1932 to 1937 inclusive; and if he will state who is the chairman of the company.

Although no subsidy or grant was given during any of the years specified to Irish Co-operative Meat, Ltd. (now Clover Meats, Ltd.), Waterford, cattle were supplied by my Department from the Kerry cattle area at less than purchase price. For particulars thereof and also of the compensation paid in respect of the extension and equipment of the company's factory for the manufacture of certain meat products, I would refer the Deputy to the reply which I gave to a question put to me on 16th February last. I have no official information as to the personnel of the company's board of directors.
