Written Answers. - Income-tax Statistics.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of assessments for income-tax made under Schedule A for each of the years 1934-35, 1935-36, 1936-37 and 1937-38:—(1) the gross income from lands, including farmhouses, farm buildings, etc.; (2) the gross income from houses, messuages, tenements, etc.; (3) the total amount of exemptions granted; (4) the total amount of reductions made, distinguishing between (a) repairs, etc., lands; (b) repairs, etc., houses and buildings; (c) empty property, and (d) other reductions, and (5) the total actual income.

As explained to the Deputy on the 9th February, 1939, figures for 1936-37 and 1937-38 will not be available for some time. As regards 1934-35 and 1935-36, the following are the figures, those for 1935-36 being approximate:—
