Vol. 74 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Oil Refinery.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state what is the present position with regard to the establishment of the oil refinery at the North Wall, Dublin; whether there has been any change in the details of the original scheme for the refining of petroleum in Dublin; and on what date it is hoped to bring the refinery into operation.

The Government have no direct responsibility for the establishment of the oil refinery as the scheme is promoted by private enterprise. The completion of the refinery has been delayed longer than was originally anticipated. The reasons for this delay are at present the subject of discussions with the company.
