In Committee on Finance. - Cork Gas Order, 1940—Motion of Approval.

I move that the Cork Gas Order be approved. The objects are to extend the existing gas undertaking in Cork; to put in new mains in connection with new housing schemes; to enable additional land to be acquired for the development of the gas undertaking; to make certain domestic arrangements in the government of the undertaking. In connection with the Order, the necessary advertisements have been inserted in accordance with the Gas Act, 1920, and no objections were received. Employment will be given to a large number of men if this proposed Order is approved.

Question put and agreed to.
