Vol. 83 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Gaeltacht Industries.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the amounts expended on fishery development and rural industries in the Gaeltacht in each of the years 1934-35 to 1940-41, inclusive.

The amounts expended out of the Gaeltacht Services Vote on rural industries in the years in question are as follows:—1934-35, £35,001; 1935-36, £49,454; 1936-37, £47,087; 1937-38, £50,876; 1938-39, £71,953; 1939-40, £104,244; 1940-41, £153,271.

The figure for 1940-41 is subject to revision on completion of the Appropriation Account for that year. The figures in each case include expenditure out of Appropriations-in-Aid, but do not include any apportionment of headquarters salaries and expenses.

The question in so far as it relates to fishery development should be directed to the Minister for Agriculture.
