Vol. 84 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kildare National School.

asked the Minister for Education whether he is aware that the national school at Kilshanroe, County Kildare, has been condemned by the county medical officer of health, whether it is proposed to make a grant for the erection of a new school, and, if so, when the grant will be made available.

I am aware that the Kilshanroe National School, County Kildare, has been reported to be unsuitable. My Department is in communication with the manager with a view to having a site obtained and preliminary arrangements made for the erection of a new school. In the meantime a grant has been made for the execution of such works of repair as will render the existing school serviceable pending the erection of a new school.
