Vol. 85 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Export of Cattle from Ballina.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether in view of the large number of cattle on the hands of the farmers of Mayo and the unemployment among dock labourers at Ballina quay, he will give consideration to making it a port for the export of cattle, provided the necessary shipping is available.

Ballina port is open for the shipment of cattle to Great Britain but so far the shipping company hitherto concerned in shipment from that port has not found it possible to arrange any sailings.
