Vol. 85 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Importation of Twine.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is prepared to facilitate the import of twine suitable for mending mackerel and herring nets, etc., where merchants succeed in locating supplies of this commodity in Britain or Northern Ireland.

I am prepared to facilitate the importation of twine suitable for mending nets if supplies can be obtained from outside sources. I may add that in the past it has been my practice to recommend duty free licences for the importation of such twines on request.
