Vol. 86 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tillage Prosecutions.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if, in view of the inadequacy of the fines imposed in the District Court in the case of tillage prosecutions, he is prepared to recommend to the Government that an Emergency Powers Order be issued referring all such prosecutions to a special court.

The Government have under consideration the question of the imposition of substantial minimum fines on all persons convicted of contravention of the Tillage Order for the current season, and it is intended to place proposals in the matter before the Dáil at an early date.
