Vol. 86 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kinnegad Water Supply.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that the only two public pumps in Kinnegad, County Westmeath, were condemned almost four years ago on the grounds that the water supply was dangerous to public health, and if he is now in a position to say what steps he proposes taking to secure a proper water supply for the town.

One of the public pumps in Kinnegad was condemned early in 1937. The pump was closed. The provision of a piped supply for Kinnegad has been under consideration. The contract documents were approved in my Department on the 3rd February, 1941. I understand that the necessary rights have only recently been acquired.
