Vol. 86 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Letting of Tallaght Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state why the Glynn estate, Gibbons, Tallaght, owned by the Land Commission, is let for grazing purposes instead of for tillage, and if he is prepared to divide this estate at the end of the present year amongst local landless men and uneconomic holders and thereby ensure more food production.

The only area on the Glynn estate now on the hands of the Land Commission comprises a holding of 45 acres in the townland of Gibbons, possession of which was recovered from the former allottee on the 6th instant. It was then too late to make arrangements for a tillage letting of the lands for this season.

Arrangements have not yet been made for the final disposal of the lands.
