Vol. 88 No. 13

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Allowances for Married Soldiers.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will see that married members of the Defence Forces who are obliged to provide their own homes will be given an allowance for lodging, fuel and light.

Lodging, fuel and light allowance is issuable to commissioned officers only. Marriage allowance is issuable to non-commissioned officers and men and is the corresponding allowance to that issued to officers. This allowance is issued towards the cost of maintenance and accommodation of a soldier's family.
