Vol. 92 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Meath Estates.

asked the Minister for Lands when he expects to have vested the holdings on the Bomford estate at Drumlargan, Kilcock, County Meath, which are already over 15 years divided; if he is aware that the non-vesting of those holdings acts very much against the tenants, as their system of credits is restricted through having no little to their holdings on which to base credit.

I am not at present in a position to state when the parcels on the Bomford estate will be vested in the allottees. Vesting work generally has had to be postponed by the Land Commission, owing to the present shortage of staff, and the problem now arises of vesting some 45,000 parcels of allotted land, involving prior investigation to ascertain if the parcels are properly worked by the allottees. All I can promise is that there will be no unnecessary delay in undertaking this huge task as soon as circumstances permit.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what number of holdings on the Bruton estate at Kilgraigue, Maynooth, County Meath, which is about to be allotted, are to be given to Meath applicants, and what number to migrants from other counties.

The Land Commission have not finally decided on the distribution of the holdings on hands on the Bruton estate at Kilgraigue.
