Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the Land Commission have been letting the Kennedy estate, Coolemine, Saggart, comprising about 52 acres, for the past 11 years, and if he will state the reasons for the continued letting of this land; and if he will also state why this land is not allotted to two suitable applicants in the area.

The Kennedy estate, Record No. S. 7609, comprising an area of approximately 463 acres of the lands of Coolemine and Saggart, was acquired by the Land Commission on the 3rd January, 1936. By the 1st October, 1938, 379 acres had been allotted, of which 282 acres went to local applicants. The Land Commission are not yet in a position to allot the balance of 84 acres.
