Vol. 95 No. 2

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Farms for ex-Army Officers and Men.

asked the Minister for Lands if it is the intention of the Land Commission to give special consideration to Army officers and men with long military service who, on retiring, make application for farms under the land division scheme.

The Land Commission are prepared to give due consideration to claims in regard to any national service put forward by applicants for allotment of untenanted land, subject to suitability of the applicants in other respects and to the amount of land locally available for division. The relief of congestion is the primary duty of the Land Commission and takes precedence of other considerations.
